Shaun Livingston rose up and put Richard Jefferson on a poster in Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals

With the outcome of the 2016 NBA Finals hanging in the balance on Monday night for Game 5 in Oracle Arena, the home crowd for the Golden State Warriors was absolutely electric from the very start. However, it was a play in the second quarter from veteran backup point guard Shaun Livingston that really got them to lose their minds.

As the Cavaliers and Warriors were going back and forth in terms of the lead, Livingston drove right down the middle of the lane with tunnel vision on the rim.

And that’s when he did terribly mean things to both the rim and Richard Jefferson.

If that looked pretty from Shaun Livingston, just wait until you see the second angle of what he just did to Richard Jefferson:

That type of nasty play should be illegal in at least 48 states. Even if it already is, apparently California isn’t one of them.

In all seriousness, Shaun Livingston has been one of the brightest stars in the 2016 NBA Playoffs and the NBA Finals. Now he has a play that certainly quantifies just how great he’s been. Sure, it came at the expense of Richard Jefferson—another veteran who’s been great in the Finals—but that’s the way this game goes.
