Stone Cold Steve Austin effectively praised AJ Styles and threw shade at Roman Reigns with the WWE legend’s recent comments about the former

Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the greatest (if not the absolute greatest) WWE superstars to ever be a part of the business. He’s also not a person that’s ever been shy about voicing his opinions on the company since his wrestling days have ended. So as he did an interview leading up to his live podcast with AJ Styles on June 20 on the WWE Network, there were some obvious gems.

Talking to SI Extra Mustard, Stone Cold didn’t hold anything back in regards to praising AJ Styles, essentially saying that he has the talent and has performed well enough since debuting at the 2016 Royal Rumble to be the top guy in the company and on the card right now. However, Austin was clearly displeased with the fact that Styles lost twice to Roman Reigns and that they “keep having him lose.”

The real gem from the interview, though, came when he talked about the previous two pay-per-views that saw Reigns and AJ Styles face off.

Not only did Austin praise Styles’ work in that match, but he even went as far as to say that AJ “carried” Roman to two great matches.

If you’ve ever seen anyone on the internet talk about Roman Reigns before, the notion of him being carried in a match by a great wrestler isn’t new. However, doesn’t it have a little more clout coming from someone like Austin? After all, he’s not exactly defending an old-school type of wrestler in AJ Styles.

Regardless, I think anyone with eyes can agree that AJ Styles indeed needs to be pushed to the moon and that he can have a great match with anyone.
