AL Rookie of the Year

Nomar Mazara. 1. player. 95.
21-year-olds aren’t supposed to be this good. Mazara has been a revelation for Texas this season, blasting 10 home runs in only 55 games (237 PA) and playing above-average defense for a team that needs that in its outfield. Mazara’s .339 BABIP will probably regress a bit, but the power is legitimate (.479 slugging) and even with some growing pains along the way, he should be considered the favorite right now.
. OF. Texas Rangers

player. 63.
Fulmer doesn’t have a full season’s worth of data to work with, but he has been incredible in recent days. For reference, the 23-year-old is the first rookie with four consecutive scoreless starts in more than 100 years, and Fulmer has not allowed an earned run since May 21. That has led to the right-hander posting a 2.52 ERA for the season (53.2 innings and nine starts) and Fulmer’s scorching hot stretch puts him on pace to challenge for AL Rookie of the Year honors.
. SP. Detroit Tigers. Michael Fulmer. 2

62.
There is a giant drop-off after the top two, to the point where Lee can make this list with only 114 MLB plate appearances under his belt. The 33-year-old (yes, you read that correctly) does have 10 home runs in that limited sample, though, and a .574 slugging percentage is enough to make a strong statement. Lee is probably a role player for the Mariners when it comes to 2016, but if he can keep up this pace, he’ll hang around.
. 1B/DH. Seattle Mariners. Dae-Ho Lee. 3. player
