Swinging for the fences right off the bat, the Boston Celtics land a much-needed star player and the Chicago Bulls get a ton of interesting parts to build their roster around.

Jimmy Butler is one of the best two-way players in the entire NBA. He is a lock-down defender from the two-guard position, and is a strong scorer when his team has the ball. Butler is also a strong play-maker from the guard position, with the ability to set up his teammates.

He is a perfect fit for Brad Stevens’ system, and would give the Celtics a legitimate star to build around. Butler is arguably the best two-guard in the entire NBA.

The Bulls would obviously hate to part ways with Butler, but they would receive a strong haul of talent in return. Bradley and Crowder are both incredible defensive players who will immediately improve the Bulls’ defense, even if they lose a strong defender in Butler.

Crowder and Bradley are great, but the third overall pick in the draft is the gem for the Bulls here. Simmons and Ingram will likely be off of the board, but the Bulls would still have a choice between Providence point guard Kris Dunn and Kentucky two-guard Jamal Murray.

Dunn is an extremely gifted and athletic two-way point guard who the Bulls could build around, while Murray is an absolute marksman from three-point range. Either guy would certainly help this Bulls’ team as they head in to a new era.

Losing Butler would be tough for the Bulls, and the Celtics would hate to part with so many assets, but this trade makes sense for both sides.
