The Chicago Bulls are heating up NBA trade rumors, and the possibility of Derrick Rose being dealt to another team keeps coming up.

As the Finals near their end and the 2016 NBA Draft approaches, talks of potential picks and trades are heating up. Everyone loves to hypothesize at this time of the year and now that most fans seem convinced that Kevin Durant will likely stay put with the Oklahoma City Thunder, speculation about other matters are increasing. Specifically, the potential activity of the Chicago Bulls in the coming weeks and the rumored possibility of trading Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose.

With one brief tweet, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders let us know that all these trade talks are coming from somewhere real.

Hearing that the Bulls are open for business would, in the minds of most, revolve around the possibility of trading Butler. The Minnesota Timberwolves supposedly want to get their hands on him using the No. 5 overall pick and a combination of their young talent, but it seems as though Rose has just as good a chance of leaving Chicago as Butler.

Kyler has reported that during recent trade conversations among various NBA teams and scouts, Rose’s name kept popping up:

"the Bulls are not actively considering trading Butler – at least not yet. League sources in Italy say the Bulls are actively open to moving guard Derrick Rose and that seems to be the first choice rather than shopping Butler."

As is always the case in NBA trade rumors, who knows what will happen. But with such limited talent in the 2016 free agent point guard pool, the chance of some teams taking a shot with Rose isn’t out of the question.

If you’re stuck at the depths of the NBA already, why not take a shot? He improved over the course of the season and can always be let go in free agency next year if things don’t work out.

With the Bulls eager to shop Rose, refresh their roster, end a reportedly strained relationship with Butler, and avoid having to sign him to another heavy deal in 2017, a trade makes sense.

Let’s consider some options.
