Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Wilson Ramos, Nationals (4,000): Ramos is tied with Miami’s J.T. Realmuto as the highest priced catcher on Wednesday’s slate, but at a reasonable 4,000 salary, there’s no catcher that will break the bank. Ramos is 3-for-9 with two home runs in his career against Chicago Cubs right-hander Jason Hammel (7-2, 2.36 ERA), so he stands out as a top play on Wednesday.
Derek Norris, Padres (3,800): Norris’ average (.214) is ugly, but he does have four hits in his last three games. Overall, he’s hitting .341 in the month of June, a far cry from the .203 average he posted in May. Norris is also hitting .259 against left-handers this season, so he draws a solid matchup with the Marlins’ Justin Nicolino (2-3, 4.76 ERA).
High Value
Austin Romine, Yankees (3,300): Romine should draw the start in place of Brian McCann for Wednesday’s day game. Assuming he does, Romine is cheap exposure to a game that should feature plenty of hits and runs. In his last seven starts, Romine has hit safely in six of them with eight hits total.
Yadier Molina, Cardinals (3,100): Molina has been on a nice little run over the last week, collecting eight total hits and three double-digit fantasy-point outings. Age might finally be starting to catch up to the 33-year-old catcher, but Molina can still turn in strong performances on occasion. He’s 1-for-4 in his career against Houston Astros starter Collin McHugh (5-5, 5.22 ERA).
