Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Carlos Gonzalez, Rockies (5,400): Gonzalez has eight hits in his last four games, including a four-hit explosion Tuesday against the New York Yankees. He’s homered five times in the month of June and is hitting .343 against right-handers this season. The Rockies should be able to do some damage against Ivan Nova (5-3, 4.39 ERA) at Coors Field on Wednesday.

Christian Yelich, Marlins (5,300): Yelich has hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games and ranks ninth in the majors with a .318 batting average. His home run total (five) is low, but his 19 doubles rank among the top 10 players in the league. He’s also hitting .321 against right-handers, making his matchup Wednesday against San Diego Padres righty Luis Perdomo (1-2, 9.50 ERA) appealing.

High Value

Franklin Gutierrez, Mariners (3,000): Gutierrez has struggled since the calendar flipped over to June, going just 5-for-24. He has a nice opportunity to reverse that trend on Wednesday against Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Drew Smyly (2-7, 4.94 ERA). Gutierrez is hitting .269 against lefties and has already homered previously against Smyly.

Tyler Naquin, Indians (3,000): It’s been a solid rookie season so far for Naquin, who is hitting .309 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in 39 games. He’ll face Kansas City Royals right-hander Ian Kennedy (4-5, 4.06 ERA), against whom he homered earlier in this season. Naquin is also hitting 40 points higher against righties than he is against lefties.
