Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 15 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers (14,100): It’s “Ace Day” around Major League Baseball, and Kershaw is front and center. On a day that also includes Stephen Strasburg, Chris Sale, Noah Syndergaard and Johnny Cueto, among others, Kershaw is still the king. He’s opponent-proof and matchup-proof, so don’t fret over him pitching at Chase Field. He should be able to shut down the Arizona Diamondbacks, but he won’t come cheap.
Stephen Strasburg, Nationals (12,300): If you want to pivot off Kershaw to save some salary (and differentiate your lineup in GPPs), Strasburg is a nice option. He’s reached double-digit strikeouts in four of his last five starts, and has a great chance to do it again Wednesday against the free-swinging Chicago Cubs. Sale, Cueto and Syndergaard offer major upside, too. There’s no shortage of great pitching on Wednesday.
High Value
Marco Estrada, Blue Jays (10,900): With so many big names on the slate, Estrada will almost certainly be overlooked. He’s topped 18 fantasy points in four of his last five starts, including a pair of 30-point performances. He now gets to face a struggling Philadelphia Phillies team in the city of brotherly love, which also means a pitcher, not a designated hitter, in the opposing lineup.
Sonny Gray, Athletics (7,100): Gray has looked solid in his two starts since a stint on the disabled list, tallying 17.65 and 15.65 fantasy points, respectively. It’s certainly a roll of the dice playing him in a matchup with the AL West-leading Texas Rangers, but there’s too much talent here for Gray to struggle through an entire season. He’s best considered a GPP play though, especially on a day with so many top-end pitching options.
