Pete Rose thinks Chicago Cubs are doomed to blow it

Pete Rose has some thoughts on the Chicago Cubs who have dominated the opposition the first 2.5 months of the MLB season and thinks they’ll find a way to blow it all again.
The Chicago Cubs have been the best team in baseball since Opening Day and could be in a position to snap their World Series drought that has lasted since their last title in 1908.
You can’t argue the Cubs lack of postseason success over the last century, but this year’s team could be different with dominant starting from Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester and a lineup led by Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant and veteran free agent signee Ben Zobrist.
Next year could be here for the Cubs, but not if you ask MLB all-time hits leader, Pete Rose who thinks the Cubs will find a way to blow it again. Rose spoke with Clay Travis on his Outkick the Show.
“The Cubs right now no question have the best team, but I can’t root for a team that hasn’t won since 1907,” Rose said. “The Cubs will find a way to screw it up I think. They’ve got a good ball club, probably the best ball club in the league right now. They’re playing like it, but again, they can be pitched to, their pitchers can be hit. It’s just a matter of who’s going to give them a fight at the end of the season, in the playoffs.”
It’s hard to disagree with Rose’s statements here. The Cubs have the best team in baseball, but they’re not invincible (no team is) and their history suggests they are doomed.
“The Cubs, are they going to play good all year like last year when they won 97 games and then got swept in the playoffs?” Rose added. “We’ll have to wait and see, because in the playoffs, you’re a different animal.”
Well, the Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates in the Wild Card game before beating the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLDS in four games to dispatch the two best teams in the National League before getting swept by the red-hot New York Mets, who were a different animal in the short season.
Do you agree with the hit king that the Cubs are doomed or can they finally shake off that curse and win the World Series?
