5) Sami Zayn

Now some of you may be taking this the wrong way, seeing Sami Zayn so far back on this list. But remember, this isn’t about the value of someone in the match, it’s about the chances they have of coming away with the win.

We can all agree that seeing Sami Zayn climb that ladder and come down with the briefcase would be one of the best moments of the year, but the fact of the matter is that it’s just simply not the right time to put that much power into the hands of Mr. Ole Ole Ole.

You see, at the moment, whether anyone wants to admit it or not, the company is building Zayn as the ultimate underdog. You can expect to see him lose a lot more throughout the course of the year, with Sunday night being added to the list. Hell, it wouldn’t even really surprise me if he’s one of two people on the ladder at the end of the bout and he gets screwed over once again.

But for right now, a win here in the Money in the Bank ladder match does nothing to help with the character development they have going for Zayn. He still needs to look like the guy who just can’t catch a break most of the time, and more or less stamping him as the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion does nothing to help that process.

Sami will have his moment some day — but that day won’t be on Sunday.
