When LeBron James puts down a dunk, there isn’t anyone alive on this planet that can match his intensity for finishing at the rim. In Game 6 of the NBA Finals, James did his best to put down as many big dunks as possible, as his team tried to force a Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors.
His biggest dunk of the game came when J.R. Smith made a sick lob to James. As Smith caught a pass out in transition, he didn’t have a clear path for a layup so he decided to just flip the ball behind his head and that’s when a trailing James caught it in mid-air and did the rest to get everyone out of their seats.
The dunk was so big that it got one of the bigger reactions out of announcer Mike Breen. While James put it down, this dunk doesn’t happen without the perfect behind-the-head alley-oop from Smith.
He could have selfishly tried to score on the play, but he decided to trust the best player on his team and he was rewarded for his effort.
When James gets a full head of steam down the court, it’s best to defer the ball his way.
