Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Manny Machado, Orioles (4,800): The outcome of Machado’s suspension appeal is still pending, but in the meantime, DFS players should enjoy his continued presence. Machado has nine hits over his last five games, including a pair of home runs. He’ll once again be an elite play on Friday when the Toronto Blue Jays and Aaron Sanchez (6-1, 3.38 ERA) visit Baltimore.
Trevor Story, Rockies (4,400): Truth be told, Story has the ability to hit a home run every night he takes the field. Colorado pays a visit to Miami to face the Marlins this weekend, and Friday’s game pits the Rockies against left-hander Adam Conley (3-4, 4.13 ERA). Five of Story’s 19 hits this season against left-handers are home runs. He has nice upside on Friday.
High Value
Didi Gregorius, Yankees (3,400): Gregorius is red-hot right now, having picked up two hits in three straight games. He’s homered twice and driven in seven runs over that same stretch. On Friday, he’ll face Minnesota Twins left-hander Pat Dean (1-2, 4.17 ERA), which bodes well for Gregorius continuing his hot streak. He’s hitting .357 against lefties this season.
Marcus Semien, Athletics (2,900): Semien had his six-game hitting streak come to an end on Thursday, but his matchup Friday with Los Angeles Angels right-hander Matt Shoemaker (3-7, 4.76 ERA) offers a great chance for a bounce-back. Semien is 5-for-13 with a home run and two doubles in his career against Shoemaker.
