Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr ripped the refs in his postgame press conference following the Golden State Warriors Game 6 loss to the Cavs in Cleveland.
The Golden State Warriors had a tough night in Cleveland during Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Their infamous arch-nemesis in referee Scott Foster was given the call to join the officiating crew and as anticipated, there was plenty to complain about for the ‘Dubs.
Steph Curry getting sent to the showers early after being fouled out, throwing his mouthpiece in frustration as he exited the game in the fourth quarter.
Head coach Steve Kerr predictably ripped into the officials postgame for Curry’s six fouls, calling the fouls “inappropriate” for the league’s MVP and defending his star guard for throwing his mouthpiece.
Noting that the game’s outcome would have been the same even if the officials were less than satisfactory in his mind, making several harsh comments that could draw him a fine from the league before Game 7.
Kerr will receive some sort of discipline from the league in the way Raptors head coach Dwane Casey drew a fine for referee criticism earlier in the NBA Playoffs. But the fine will be worth every penny for the Warriors head coach after defending the MVP that got his team this far.
Curry’s fouls tonight were at points debatable and it is unlikely we will see Steph pick up anywhere near six fouls in Game 7. Especially after Kerr worked the refs with his postgame comments.
If it means getting his point across, there will be little regrets from Kerr when he signs the check on his league-mandated fine for ripping the refs for what he felt was a disappointing showing in Game 6.
