Steph Curry and Steve Kerr were both fined $25,000 for their actions during  and after Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Both Steve Kerr and Steph Curry spared no words about the officiating after the Golden State Warriors Game 6 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, ripping into what they felt were poor calls going against their team. The comments and actions unsurprisingly drew both Kerr and Curry fines from the NBA this morning for their criticism of the officials.

Kerr and Curry were both assessed $25,000 fines on Friday. Kerr for laying into the officials after the game and Curry for throwing his mouthguard in disgust after he was fouled out in the fourth quarter, the first ejection of the NBA MVP’s career. The NBA appears to be coming down on the Warriors antics after already suspending Draymond Green for Game 5 of the series.

Everyone expected the NBA to fine Kerr and Curry for their behavior last night, a $25,000 procedure that was bound to happen as the league wasn’t going to take the Game 6 antics lightly even from the MVP and the Coach of the Year. Curry showed poor sportsmanship in throwing his mouthpiece into the stands, even hitting a fan, and Kerr knew what he was going to get fined the minute he decided to take on the officiating decisions during his postgame press conference. Don’t expect much complaining from the Golden State camp about the set of fines.

Game 7 is Sunday night in Oakland at the Oracle Arena and after two frustrating games where the Warriors failed to close out the series, you can expect to see an angry Golden State look to avoid what would be a monumental collapse. With legacies on the line, you can see how much this series means when successful NBA figures like Kerr and Curry lose their cool like they did Thursday night. If the Warriors want to win this series, cooler heads will have to prevail during Game 7.
