There is nothing quite like a Game 7 in the NBA Finals. On Sunday, the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers will battle for the richest prize in the league and the right to call themselves champions.

With the way that these two teams have battled each other, the game on Sunday isn’t going to be easy and it’s certainly going to be plenty physical. Oracle Arena is usually one of the most raucous venues in the NBA, but Warriors guard Klay Thompson wants to make sure the crowd is extra rowdy for the event on Sunday.

In a special email to season ticket holders via NBA.com, Thompson pleaded with the fans to get to the game early, cheer all the way late into the game and to “dream big” on Sunday night, where they have a chance to cap off a record-breaking season in style.

"“As I mentioned the other night in my postgame press conference, if you start out every season and say, ‘We got one game at home to win the NBA Championship,’ I’ll take it every time.Well, here we are! It doesn’t get any more exciting than a winner-take-all Game 7 for the NBA Championship. And, best of all, it’s at Oracle Arena! We worked long and hard this season to secure the best record in the NBA and homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs. We need Oracle Arena to be packed, loud and alive on Sunday, long before tipoff, which is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and follows an A’s game next door. DubNation has been the pivotal Sixth Man for us all season and we’re anticipating the same on Sunday, but it won’t be possible if you are late to the party.Come early. Cheer Late. Dream big. And, let’s show the world why we have the best fans in the NBA…and why I start out every season saying the same thing.“"

When the crowd is into the game at the Oracle Arena, there is nothing quite like it. It is what allowed the Warriors to win 54-straight games at home and set a record for the best home winning streak in NBA history.

However, the Cavaliers finally got the monkey off of their back and were able to win a road game in Oakland, during Game 5 of the series. That allowed them to take Game 6 back to their place, where they once again flexed their muscles at home and forced a Game 7.

With plenty of legacies at stake in this game for both teams on Sunday, Thompson wants to make sure they can get every advantage that they can get on the floor. Having a great crowd that makes it hard on the other team is one of the best advantages in sports. He knows just how passionate the Warriors fans can be and he wants to make sure they release every ounce of energy that they have left.
