Golden State Warriors forward Marreese Speights has some high expectations for his team and Steph Curry in Sunday’s Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are one win away from getting Cleveland its first major professional sports championship since 1964. The only thing standing in the team’s way? The defending NBA champions who are trying to cap off what may be considered the greatest season in NBA history.

Game 6 featured a minor meltdown from unanimous NBA MVP Steph Curry, who was ejected after throwing his mouthpiece at a fan. The act did not look intentional, but it was a rare sign of emotion from Curry.

Warriors forward Marreese Speights penned an article for The Players’ Tribune regarding Curry and his team’s preparation for Game 7.

Some fans may have thought Curry had lost his focus, but that is quite the opposite, according to Speights:

"You know what, though? I’m going to give you all some inside info. After the game, Steph wasn’t upset. He might have said one or two words, but then he got on his phone — he talks with his kids after the game, or his wife — and he moved on. And it was the same for the rest of us."

It is no surprise that Curry is remaining focused before Game 7. A team who has already won a title and who has come back from a 3-1 deficit in this year’s Western Conference Finals will not be bewildered after two straight losses.

Speights went on to give some predictions for Sunday’s Game 7:

"I got two predictions for you for Sunday.Number 1: All our guys are gonna leave their guts out on the court.Number 2: Steph’s gonna go off on Sunday. I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes out and scores 50."

Speights’ confidence in Curry makes sense, as he has seen the MVP do some amazing things in 2016. But the Cavaliers have seemingly been able to get into Curry’s head the past two games, so 50 may be tough to achieve.

With the way the series has gone, Klay Thompson may be more likely to go for 50, especially with so much focus being paid to Curry by the defense.

The first prediction should come true, but Speights may end up eating his words on the second prediction if the Cavaliers bring Cleveland its first title since the days of Jim Brown.
