4. All the pressure is on Golden State

Believe it or not, the pressure in Game 7 falls squarely on the shoulders of the Golden State Warriors. That’s not to say the Cavaliers don’t have pressure at all, because they do, this is the NBA Finals and the weight of the world is on everyone’s shoulders.

However, the Warriors are the team in this series that won 73 games and are trying to cap off the best season in NBA history. They are the team that spent the time in effort calling out LeBron James after games and felt comfortable that they would pull this off.

This is the team that has forever been calm and collected. They haven’t shown that pressure has gotten to them before, but in Game 6, it looked like they finally were on the verge of letting the weight of the world crash down upon them.

The Cavaliers know that they’re playing with house money right now and that nobody expected them to get this to a Game 7. No longer is the narrative about Cleveland that they just aren’t good enough and the team is assembled the wrong way.

Their narrative is now defined by resiliency and a chance to create one of the best stories in the game. They need to just keep doing what they’re doing and let the Warriors have all the doubts creep into their head.
