The NBA Finals come to a head on Sunday night, as the Warriors and Cavaliers play in Game 7 to decide the champion. In this situation, Steve Kerr would take LeBron James over anyone.

The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are in the middle of an amazing NBA Finals. What looked like a back-to-back championship for Golden State has turned into a winner take all Game 7, something that seemed very unlikely when the Warriors went up 3-1 in the series after a huge win in Cleveland in Game 4.

On Sunday night, the series moves back to Oakland, and most odds makers have the Warriors winning their second championship in a row. However, LeBron James has played out of his mind the last two games, scoring 41 points in each contest, and it is really a coin flip about who will win.

James has looked like a man who is going to do anything he can to win the first championship for the city of Cleveland since the Browns won the NFL Championship in 1964. No major sports team has won since.

Steve Kerr has been around the NBA for a very long time, winning six championships as a player in a 16-year NBA career. In March of 2014, when Kerr was an analyst for TNT, he tweeted who he would want if he had to win a Game 7 on the road. His response was interesting.

Two months later, Kerr was named the coach of the Warriors and has since become one of the premier coaches in the NBA. His Warriors won an NBA-record 73 games during the regular season, and he was named the 2016 NBA Coach of the Year.

In the Western Conference Finals, Kevin Durant, Kerr’s second pick if he had to win a Game 7 on the road, could not beat the Warriors on the road, and Kerr must be hoping his first selection fails as well.

Kerr may want to change that answer now that he is the coach of the Warriors, but even he must be worried about giving James a shot at the title in a Game 7.
