Oklahoma State Cowboys vs UC Santa Barbara Gauchos

When the 64 teams that made the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament were announced, it’s hard to imagine that anyone would have picked both the Oklahoma State Cowboys or the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos to be one of the eight teams to make it to the College World Series. However, that’s why they play the games when it comes to the college baseball postseason as these two teams are facing off to kick off the action in the 2016 College World Series.

UCSB needed a magical moment in the Super Regionals to advance and they got it as they used a pinch-hit walkoff grand slam to move on to the College World Series. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have looked like they might have been deserving of a No. 1 seed in this tournament with how well they’ve played in this postseason. Now it’ll be the underdog up against the team that’s feeling a bit slighted in Omaha and it should be one hell of a way to get the action underway on Saturday.
