Bryson DeChambeau’s Sunday at his first U.S. Open appearance didn’t exactly get off to the best start when he burned his shirt with an iron.
Bryson DeChambeau will certainly be in the next crop of great PGA Tour players.
The 22-year-old became the fifth player in history to win the NCAA Division I individual title at Southern Methodist University and the United States Amateur golf title in 2015. It won’t be long before DeChambeau will be among the elite players on the tour.
However, when it comes to ironing his clothes before his first round on a Sunday at the U.S. Open, DeChambeau is probably missing the cut (or a portion of his shirt).
DeChambeau burned a hole in his shirt with an iron prior to teeing off on Sunday and from the looks of things, his dog wanted no part of the embarrassment on DeChambeau’s Snapchat account. Since he’s sponsored by Puma, we’ll go ahead and assume he had more than one shirt in his closet, or that someone got him one pretty quickly.
Prior to teeing off at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania on Sunday, DeChambeau sat at +1 overall for the tournament, eight shots back of leader Shane Lowry. That left him ahead of notable names like Jordan Spieth, just to name one.

So far through two holes on Sunday, DeChambeau is -1 on the round and even par for the tournament in another red shirt that isn’t lacking fabric on the front.
