The Cleveland Cavaliers have won the 2016 NBA Finals, ending a 52-year championship drought in Cleveland. Here are what the Championship shirts look like.
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, ending the city’s 52-year professional championship drought. LeBron James fulfilled his promise to bring a championship home to his hometown of championship-starved Cleveland. Here is what the commemorative 2016 NBA Championship shirt looks like for Cavaliers.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell tweeted out the images that surely millions of Cavaliers fans will want to have to remember this historic NBA Championship. Both shirts are grey, with the first saying “The First” with the Larry O’Brien Trophy situated where the “I” would be. The Cavaliers’ “C” logo is directly below the trophy emblazoned phrase.
The other shirt is a bit lighter shade of grey, with the outline of Ohio shaded in gold, the Larry O’Brien trophy in the Northeast portion of the border, and “Land of Champions” running across the entire state, with the Cavaliers’ basketball logo down in the southern part of the state.
Cleveland finally has its championship. Congratulations, Cavaliers. Well done!
