LeBron James breaks into tears, has his own Michael Jordan moment
By Mike Dyce
LeBron James broke out into tears after the Cleveland Cavaliers clinched the 2016 NBA Finals championship.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are your 2016 NBA champions and this isn’t a satire post, this is real life. The Cavaliers rallied from down 3-1 to win in Game 7 and clinch the championship.
After the game came to a conclusion, LeBron James dropped to his knees on the court and rest his head on his forearm as he buried his face. Tears were undoubtedly streaming down his face as he brought an NBA Championship back to his hometown after promising to do so when he decided to return.
You could call this LeBron James’ Michael Jordan moment, reminiscent of when Jordan was overcome with emotion and crying as he clutched the Larry O’Brien Trophy in what has become an iconic image.
When James lifted the trophy he fought back tears again, clutching it close in something even more similar to the picture above.
The real credit for this win, with all due respect to LeBron James who had an incredible and historical series, is with Stipe Miocic. The Cleveland fighter won the UFC heavyweight championship earlier this year, bringing a championship to Northeast Ohio.
