LeBron James had himself a Kevin Garnett moment when shouting out to Cleveland after winning the NBA Finals.

LeBron James had won the NBA Finals before. He knew that stage and that moment — but he never knew it with Cleveland.

The prophecy that was set forth when he was drafted back in 2003 had gone unrealized until the Cavaliers finally managed to get over the hump they seemingly never could find a way to.

Cleveland is a city of champions tonight, and LeBron James is living in the brightest spotlight he’s ever stood under. Naturally, he lived up the moment as much as he could, with the start of what will be the biggest celebration of his career.

After the game, while being interviewed by Doris Burke, LeBron James had his own Kevin Garnett moment when he shouted out to the entire city of Cleveland:

This was the absolute finest moment of LeBron’a career. Winning the NBA Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers was something we were starting to think we would never see. But not only did we finally see LeBron get over the title hump with the team he was supposed to restore glory to, but he did it in historic fashion.

This was more than just about LeBron or the Warriors or the NBA Finals. This was about a city that had consistently had its heart ripped out and stomped on for years, but now that pain has gone away.

Eons of losing has evaporated in an instant, as this is truly a win for Cleveland.
