After 2.5 years together, Lakers wing Nick Young and his rapper girlfriend in Iggy Azalea have officially called it quits

For better or worse, one of the most recognizable couples in the NBA and in the world of celebrities in general has been Los Angeles Lakers small forward Nick Young and “Fancy” rapper Iggy Azalea. The couple have been dating for 2.5 years and have been in the public eye for quite some time. However, they won’t be making it to three years.

On Sunday as Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals was getting underway, both Azalea and Nick Young took to social media to address the situation. Azalea went to Instagram where she released a heartfelt, well though-out statement:

Nick Young was just a tad more brief and perhaps coarse in his way of announcing that his relationship had ended, needing just one word on Twitter:

The catalyst of course for this relationship crumbling came from a scandal within the Lakers organization as then rookie point guard D’Angelo Russell filmed Nick Young admitting to cheating on Iggy Azalea while the players were in the locker room. The video then was somehow leaked, everything blew up in the Lakers locker room, and then the Swaggy P-Iggy relationship followed suit.

There have already been rumors that the Nick Young-Russell situation might lead to changes on the Lakers roster this offseason. Now that the fiasco has cost Swaggy P his relationship, you have to wonder if those rumors are only going to heat up even further.
