Roman Reigns defeats Seth Rollins in live event at Staples Center
By Sai Sridhar
The live event at the Staples Center is just like a warm up for the Money in the Bank PPV.
The seventh edition of the Money in the Bank PPV is scheduled to take place in less than 24 hours from now, and just before the event, a WWE live event was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
This event consisted of eight matches with two title defenses. No titles changed hands, and all the equations hold for the upcoming blockbuster WWE PPV.
Let us have a look at the results from this live event:
- In the first match of the night, Cesaro defeated one of his competitors in the ladder match, Alberto Del Rio quite comfortably.
- The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) defeated Lucha Dragons.
- In yet another boring match, Baron Corbin defeated Dolph Ziggler.
- In an eight-woman tag team match, Natalya/Paige/Sasha Banks/Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte/Dana Brooke/Summer Rae/Eva Marie.
- Dean Ambrose conquers Chris Jericho in a Street Fight.
- Rusev successfully defended his US title against Titus O’Neil.
- Arch-rivals Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn faced off again, and this time, Sami had the last laugh.
- Roman Reigns successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles and Seth Rollins in a triple threat main event match.
The event contained some exciting matches and some stereotypical matches as well. All the participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match took part in the event, and the faces emerged victorious in all the three bouts. Roman Reigns ended the show on a positive note, and that could give him some momentum heading into the PPV.
