Results and full highlights from Apollo Crews vs Sheamus at WWE Money in the Bank 2016
Apollo Crews and Sheamus have been going back and forth with one another on RAW and Smackdown for the past month or so after the Celtic Warrior became perturbed that Crews was always talking about the “New Era” in WWE. At WWE Money in the Bank 2016, though, the two finally got to square off in the squared circle under the bright lights in Las Vegas.
The former WWE Money in the Bank ladder match winner in Sheamus didn’t waste any time jumping on Crews, beginning to attack him before the match ever started and continued the beatdown for much of the beginning of the match.
Even when the spry Crews tried to fight back to get a win in his debut at WWE Money in the Bank, the feisty Irishman had an answer somehow:
Finally, though, Apollo was able to find an opening where he could use both his size and tremendous athleticism to his advantage. He first took the veteran Sheamus down to the ground with a running crossbody, kipped up to his feet, and then took down Sheamus with a monstrous Enzuigiri:
Crews wasn’t done there in terms of impressing or showing off his athletic prowess. As Sheamus fled to the outside, the rookie got on the apron and hit a gorgeous moonsault onto the ground that connected flush on the Celtic Warrior:
It’s hard to keep a veteran down for too long and Crews found that out the hard way. When he tried to go up to the top rope, Sheamus caught him and took him down with an enormous Irish Curse Backbreaker off the second rope—but it was only good for a two-count. The Irishman wasn’t a fan of it not being three and then began to argue the fact. As such, he got distracted and that allowed Apollo Crews to roll him up for the three-count.
Winner: Apollo Crews
