2. Jeff Teague

With Teague the Pelicans are getting a proven NBA point guard, an All-Star and a player with playoff experience-51 starts on a team that has never missed the playoffs in his career. Teague is only under contract for one more year, and it seems to be known league-wide that the Hawks are looking to build for the future which kind of diminishes his value.

The Pelicans would have to be pretty confident in their ability sign Teague to pull of the move, but if the Hawks called with Teague, and pick 21 for the sixth overall pick, they would definitely consider it.

The other benefit of trading for Teague is the impending free agency of Al Horford. Horford is looking for a contender, and is looking to play with talent, there should be no doubt about that. To see Davis, and a team one year removed from the playoffs, and his former teammate Teague there it would be a huge motivating factor. Horford has said he wants to play power forward, and it wouldn’t happen as much with Davis, but to play with one of the rising players in the league, and a stud defender I am sure Horford will manage.

The combination of moves makes Jrue Holiday, Omer Asik and Alexis Ajinca extremely expendable and they can try to find specific role players or future picks to build around with these pieces.

Teague could be a solid, underrated get this off-season and may end up coming around for cheaper than expected.
