Usher celebrated with Cleveland Cavaliers after NBA Finals (Video)
By Josh Hill
Usher celebrated the Cleveland Cavaliers winning the NBA Finals — because, well I don’t know.
Every NBA team has a celebrity that is closely identified with them. The Lakers have crazy Jack Nicholson, the Knicks have Spike Lee and the Raptors have Drake.
Somehow, someway, the Cavaliers ended up with Usher. That’s so Cleveland that is almost makes sense, but NBA fandom is ride or die, and Usher has been there for highs and lows. Well, maybe not but he’s definitely been there for the highs.
We thought there might be a rift growing when he joined the Warriors in their locker room after LeBron James stiffed him on a high five — but it seems winning the NBA Finals is a let bygones be bygones type of moment.
Usher decided to save face and reversed his heel turn by celebrating with the Cavs after their NBA Finals victory.
Usher was born in Dallas and spend large portions of his life in Chattanooga and Atlanta — so you can see why he desired to own a minority stake in the Cavaliers.
While you may not be all about Usher all of the time, the fact that he’s loved the Cavaliers despite all of the horrifying trauma they’ve forced upon fans over the years. But this is a happy time — something that is new to the fine folk of Cleveland — and Usher repping that pain to gain story is sort of totally Cleveland.
