Identifying the top high salary and value shortstop plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 21 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox (5,300): Bogaerts costs 8,000 more than any other shortstop available on Tuesday’s slate, despite drawing a matchup with Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale (11-2, 2.94 ERA). Why is that the case? Well, Bogaerts leads the American League (and trails only Daniel Murphy in the majors) with a .347 average. He’s also 5-for-10 with a home run against the lefty Sale. He’s the top shortstop play on Tuesday.

Trevor Story, Rockies (4,100): Story just continues to put together a special rookie season. He homered again on Monday, pushing his season total to 18, which is tied for third in the majors. Colorado comes East to play the New York Yankees in the Bronx on Tuesday, and the matchup with Ivan Nova (5-4, 4.77 ERA) is inviting. Story went 2-for-3 with a double against Nova last week.

High Value

Didi Gregorius, Yankees (3,700): For his recent level of production, Gregorius continues to be underpriced. He has 10 hits over his last six games, including two home runs. Last week against Colorado, Gregorius went a combined 4-for-8 with four RBIs in two games. On Tuesday, the Yankees face Rockies right-hander Chad Bettis (5-5, 5.63 ERA), against whom Gregorius is 2-for-4.

J.J. Hardy, Orioles (3,300): Hardy has made an immediate impact in his three games since returning from the disabled list. He has three hits, including a pair of doubles, over that stretch. On Tuesday, the Orioles draw a nice home matchup with the San Diego Padres and young righty Luis Perdomo (2-2, 8.79 ERA). Hardy is a solid value play.
