A couple of players on the Alabama Crimson Tide’s football team received some good news on Monday, when tackles Cam Robinson and safety Laurence “Hootie” Jones had charges of a stolen handgun and marijuana possession dropped.

Ouachita Parish DA Jerry Jones made the decision to drop the charges and he has caught some heat because of his decision.

The DA’s rationale to drop the charges against the two players was simply because of insufficient evidence and not wanting to ruin their lives over the incident, especially because of how hard they worked while people enjoyed air conditioning. He really said that too.

Well some people aren’t happy with his decision and one angry LSU Tigers fan decided to write him a firm letter over his decision.

Melanie Wascomb is a noted LSU fan and she makes sure to let the DA know in her letter about it. While that immediately removes the objectivity of her stance and it can be disregarded at that very point, her views aren’t just shared by her.

The part of the rationale about insufficient evidence probably could have been enough to not to get people to bat an eye over the situation, but his line about air conditioning probably could have been done without.

There are plenty of people that have sweated and did hard time.
