LeBron James has brought the city of Cleveland their first championship since 1964, and the last man to win one thinks he should get the statue treatment.

There was already no doubt the LeBron James was one of the best athletes in all of professional sports in history. That legacy was cemented when he won his third NBA Finals and first as a member of the hometown Cleveland Cavilers in an epic seven-game series.

By bringing the city their first championship in over half a century, LeBron may have officially taken the title of best athlete in the history of Cleveland away from legendary Browns running back Jim Brown.

Brown, who was a part of the last Cleveland team to win a title when the Browns won the NFL crown in 1964, is getting a statue placed outside the team’s stadium during the 2016 season. After Sunday’s work, the football great thinks his basketball counterpart better get one too:

"“[Cavs Owner Dan] Gilbert is going to give him a statue,” Brown told the Akron Beacon Journal. “He’d better give him a statue. That young man put out so much blood, sweat and tears it’s unbelievable. He gave up his life. He could’ve had a heart attack he was playing so hard. So they’d better give him a statue. That’s the least they could do.”"

It is probably a safe bet that, before his time is done, LeBron James is going to have his own statue outside of Quicken Loans Arena after what he was a part of this season. The only question is if James is going to stay with the Cavaliers to try and go for a second crown and a chance to cement that spot as the best athlete to play near Lake Erie.
