NBA Rumors: Kevin Durant prefers to join Warriors if he doesn’t re-sign

If he doesn’t re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant would prefer to join the Golden State Warriors
The NBA Finals recently concluded this past Sunday night with the Cleveland Cavaliers taking home the Larry O’Brien trophy, which means that now all of the focus will be on the offseason. And as we all know by now, this offseason all of the attention will be on one man — Kevin Durant.
Durant being a free agent this summer is something that has been anticipated for a while now, and his options are completely open. However, it looks as if should he decide to not stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder, then the two-time defending Western Conference champions could get a lot more dangerous.
According to a report from the New York Daily News, if Durant decides to leave behind the only franchise that he has known in his career and his good buddy Russell Westbrook, then he would prefer to sign with the Golden State Warriors, who seem poised to have a stranglehold on the Western Conference for the next few years to come.
This isn’t the first that we have heard of Durant potentially joining the Warriors, but now with the season over, the rumors are going to start heating up more than ever. All things considered, this is the sexiest option for people to talk about when it comes to Kevin Durant, so this won’t be the last you hear of this in the next few weeks.
Not to mention, after the Warriors dropped Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday to the Cavaliers, Golden State owner Joe Lacob made it a point to say that the team will be pretty aggressive this summer, trying to ensure that a collapse like they just experienced never happens again, as they were up 3-1 over the Cavaliers in the Finals after completing the most successful regular season in NBA history.
The Kevin Durant free agency talk is just heating up here in the month of June, but right now, it looks like he might have his sights set on joining the juggernaut that is the Warriors.
