Roman Reigns’ failed Wellness test was apparently known before the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

Earlier Tuesday, WWE announced the suspension of Roman Reigns for 30 days due to a violation of the company’s Wellness Policy. This came just two days after the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, which saw Reigns drop the world title.

Well, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE had knowledge of Reigns’ failed test before Sunday’s show. While not confirmed, that could be why Rollins defeated him clean for the belt, followed by Dean Ambrose cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase to win the title.

What this means is despite knowing of the suspension, WWE still decided to put Reigns into the WWE Battleground main event, where he will face Ambrose and Rollins for the world title. Reigns will not be able to appear for the build of the match over the next month. That would also seem to indicate his headliner push is going to continue once the 30-day suspension is up, which is three days before Battleground.

What Reigns does on WWE TV will be under a microscope more than ever. Fans will boo him at every chance they get, if they weren’t already doing so. There will also be a call to turn him heel, since the WWE Universe will probably be shouting obscenities at him upon return. Plus, it could be difficult to reestablish his top babyface role off the bat. What WWE does will be interesting to watch.
