2. Jeff Teague

Teague is an experienced and underrated point guard that could give the King’s some stability. Every year he has started in the NBA he has made the playoffs and that is something no one in Sacramento can say.

The Hawks have noticed the success of Teague’s backup Dennis Schroder, and as Teague nears the end of his contract, speculation grows that he will not be re-signed in Atlanta. The Hawks would be smart to look for something to get back for Teague.

The Kings would be smart to potentially overpay for Teague if they were looking to keep Cousins. Cousins has played for nine different starting point guards in his first five NBA seasons. They need stability at the position in any way possible. Rajon Rondo was probably not the smartest player to bring in, but Teague is a smart savvy move.

The hope would have to be that he can mesh with Cousins and in that he can see the potential of where this team can go. That would get him to sign in Sacramento and with Teague and Cousins potentially happy and locked down they can look to build something.

With those two pieces and a hopeful step up from Willie Cauley-Stein the Kings could be immediately back into the playoff mix. From there they can continue to build a team where players see it as less toxic and more prone to success.
