These are the five players the Phoenix Suns should target with their draft picks in the 2016 NBA Draft.

The Phoenix Suns are an interesting team that had a disastrous season this past year. Part of it was the fact that they had to deal with a team cancer in Markieff Morris and the other part of the equation is that they lost their four top players before the emergence of rookie Devin Booker.

With top players on the shelf and a roster of players that didn’t really make sense on the floor in their absence, the Suns managed to only pull off 23 wins on the year. The bright side is that Booker is the real deal and is going to be a future superstar in the NBA for a very long time.

The bad news is that in the NBA, not even 23 wins is bad enough to get a top-three pick anymore. If the roster stays in better health next year, they’re not going to be bad enough to be in top contention for a top pick. They’re also not going to be good enough to be a playoff team either.

That puts the Suns in a really strange spot and once again lacking a clear direction of where they need to go. Despite the abundance of guards an aging center in Tyson Chandler, general manager Ryan McDonough has done a good job of adding young talent to the roster.

With three first-round picks at the moment in the draft, the Suns have a chance to really kick their youth movement into full gear. They also have plenty of veteran pieces that will probably lead to trades to create roster balance.

Still, with the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, the team has their chance at potentially drafting a dynamic player to add alongside Booker. These are the five players they should target.
