5. Carmelo’s prime not being wasted

Since coming in the NBA, Carmelo Anthony has been one of the top pure scorers in the league. He is the kind of player that can score from anywhere, and in his career, he has averaged nearly 25 points per game. Now 32-years old, there is no telling how many good years he has left, and he has played on a very bad Knicks team the last two years.

The addition of Derrick Rose gives Carmelo another solid piece to the puzzle, and the two will team with Kristaps Porzingis to form a nice three-headed monster in a weak Eastern Conference. Rose is the kind of player that could elevate Anthony’s game, and take some of the pressure off of him on the offensive end.

Anthony probably only has three really good years left in his body, which has had it’s fair share of injuries during his 13-year NBA career. The window for him  to win his elusive first NBA Championship is closing very fast, and Rose gives the Knicks the opportunity to instantly improve on their 32 wins from last year.

Anthony, Porzingis, and Rose are a good start, now the Knicks need to add a couple of pieces around them.
