Identifying the top high salary and value shortstop plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 22 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox (5,300): Bogaerts has become a mainstay in this daily column space, but he’s just too good to ignore. His .347 average still leads the American League and trails only Daniel Murphy (.352) in the majors. He’s hitting a silly .395 against left-handers this season, and is 3-for-9 in his career against Chicago White Sox southpaw Jose Quintana (5-7, 2.63 ERA).

Francisco Lindor, Indians (4,600): Lindor might not get the public recognition that some of baseball’s other young stars do, but he should be. His .310 average ranks eighth in the AL, while his 12 stolen bases are tied for sixth. He’s hitting just under .300 against right-handers and has already had success against Tampa Bay Rays starter Chris Archer (2-for-3).

High Value

Troy Tulowitzki, Blue Jays (3,500): Tulowitzki has put together consecutive two-hit games and now draws a Wednesday matchup with Arizona Diamondbacks lefty Robbie Ray (4-5, 4.44 ERA). “Tulo” has struggled this season, even when healthy, but he’s 2-for-3 in his career against Ray. He’s a solid value play.

J.J. Hardy, Orioles (3,100): Hardy now has five hits in his four games since returning from the disabled list. Baltimore faces struggling San Diego Padres right-hander Erik Johnson (0-4, 7.66 ERA) on Wednesday, providing a nice matchup for virtually all Orioles batters. Hardy offers cheap exposure to the game.
