LeBron James has put any concerns that he will leave for the Miami Heat or anywhere else to rest by re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

If you see a report in the coming days that LeBron James will opt out of his deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, don’t panic. He currently has a player option on his contract, in which he makes $24 million, but he’s expected to opt out so that he can make as much as $30 million next season. But the only team he intends to play for is the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Not that it should come as any surprise, but now that he’s fulfilled his lifelong goal of bringing a championship to Cleveland, he’s going to be here for the long haul. During the Cavs championship parade, he spoke to Cleveland.com and expressed his desire to stay in the 216:

"I love it here. I love being here. I love my teammates. Obviously my agent will take care of all the logistical things but, I’m happy. I’ve got no plans to go nowhere at this point."

The Cavaliers won their first championship in franchise history, and it further cemented LeBron James’ legacy, but why stop there? As long as he’s in Cleveland, the Eastern Conference runs through them, and it would come as no surprise if they end up back in the NBA Finals next year again.

A potential exit from Cleveland was talked about throughout the season when LeBron did stuff like unfollow the Cavs on Twitter and talked about building a superteam with Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade.
