The good kind of dystopia, we guess?
Going strictly by its dictionary definition, we really shouldnāt look forward to a dystopia of any kind, no matter what the cause. Yet we seem to keep going back to images of messed up futures over and over in pop culture anyway.
And hey, some of those dark futures end up being pretty damn cool as long as weāre only watching or playing in them. Thus, it makes perfect sense for the Loot Crate June 2016 shipment to sport a āDystopiaā theme.
We can ponder later what it means that we think weāre doomed. For now, letās see whatās inside this box, shall we?
Loot Crate June 2016 ā Dystopia

Three items peek out at you right away. Weāll start with the most instantly identifiable one ā¦
Fallout 4 Power Armor Dorbz (from Funko)
I admit to having a soft spot in my heart for these little guys, so I was happy to see one of the Dorbz in this box. The only downside? No way to tell if the person inside the Power Armor is smiling like all the rest of them. Weāll just go ahead and assume he is.

Exclusive The Matrix Puzzle (from Cardinal Games)
Yes kids, before we had the internet, we had to amuse ourselves in other ways. Sometimes that meant breaking a picture into a ton of pieces and then trying to put them all back together. Jokes aside, this is a cool item, is just the right size/challenge level at 300 pieces, and wisely focuses on the original movie instead of one of the sequels.

Exclusive RoboCop T-Shirt (from Grey Matter Art)
Itās easy to forget that Loot Crate didnāt originally start out with a t-shirt in every box, adapting that practice after it became the geek subscription service norm (which is odd since Loot Crate was the pioneer, but I digress). Anyway, while itās not fair to say the shirts have been afterthoughts so far, this is the first one that I unrolled and thought, āWow.ā Itās a really awesome graphic that will make an impression on anyone who sees it. Good on both Grey Matter Art and Loot Crate for this one.

Everything Else
Kind of a mixed bag here in the second layer of goodies. The Exclusive Bioshock Infinite Key BlankĀ is both cool and useful, as you can actually get it cut to be a real key if you so desire. Not so much for Terminator 2 Metal Print, which is one of those things that you get, look at and still arenāt really sure what itās supposed to be. It almost seems like it should be the lid to some kind of tin. Also, my kids saw it and had no idea what it was from, which made me feel both sad and old.
Value Proposition
As usual, no qualms here. The shirt and the Dorbz figure easily get you your moneyās worth, even with shipping factored in. The Terminator 2 thingie is probably a little more than I figure, the puzzle is a few bucks, and while normal key blanks are really cheap, this one is a collectible too. Solid value all around.
For what itās worth, I liked the āDystopiaā theme more than last monthās āPower,ā and the assortment was put over the top by the really cool shirt. Plus nothing in this crate stands out as an item that will be recalled, which is always a plus.
