PG. Notre Dame. Demetrius Jackson . 19. player. 73. The Denver Nuggets have been busy so far selecting Buddy Hield (No. 7) and Ante Zizic (No. 15) and now they round out their 1st round with Demetrius Jackson at the point guard position. The Nuggets have Emmanuel Mudiay and Jameer Nelson manning the lead guard spot, but Nelson has been very public about wanting to be traded if his minutes don’t increase in 2016-17. Taking Jackson could give the Nuggets some leverage in that internal discussion as Jackson is a younger version of the veteran.

Jackson is a quality point guard, however the league has been saturated with amazing talent at the lead guard position over the past 5-7 years. The days of coming in as a 1st round selection and immediately making an impact are few and far between but Jackson is one who might be ready for that — especially for a team like Denver who likes to run-and-gun.

Jackson already works well out of the pick-and-roll and the 21-year old has shown the ability to attack off the PnR or set his teammates up for quality looks. The Nuggets have done a stellar job with their rebuild over the last couple of drafts and acquiring Hield, Zizic and Jackson would only further that talent boom in Denver.
