Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry is the latest NBA star to join Team USA for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
While Stephen Curry and LeBron James are not going to make the trip, Team USA is still going to put an Olympic favorite on the floor in Rio. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, Team USA has landed a star point guard as Kyle Lowry has accepted an invitation to play.

An third-team All-NBA selection this past season, Lowry has cemented himself as one of the premier point guards in the league with the Toronto Raptors in recent years. A true play-making point guard who can score and create well for his teammates, Lowry is undoubtedly going to be a major piece for Team USA.
The headlines surrounding Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics has mostly been about the guys who are not going to play. Along with James and Curry, Russell Westbrook and James Harden have also pulled themselves out of the running for Rio.
That being said, Lowry appears likely to be joined on the court with fellow stars like Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. Simply put, the United States has plenty of talent to go around, and even with their players sitting out, Team USA will be heavy favorites for the gold.
The entire 12-man Team USA roster is expected to be officially announced sometime next week, as they will begin preparing for the 2016 Rio Olympics in July.
