Five players that the Philadelphia 76ers need to be targeting with the 2016 NBA Draft

Here’s the thing about the Philadelphia 76ers—when it comes to the No. 1 overall pick, there’s really not that much chatter about it at this point. Everyone knows who the 76ers are going to be taking and his name his Ben Simmons. End the drama there and let’s move on with our lives.

However, the 76ers haven’t been “Trusting the Process” just by being the NBA’s eyesore. Instead, they have indeed been acquiring assets and setting themselves up for the future by having a bevy of draft picks to work with. That’s going to be the case on Thursday night.

The Sixers occupy not just the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but also have the Nos. 24 and 26 selections at the back end of the first round. While that may not seem like much, this is an interesting draft class in that there is a lot of parity in regards to the prospects and a great deal of value that can be found well into the second round.

Shockingly, the 76ers actually don’t have a second round pick, which feels weird considering that last year felt like 30 consecutive picks from Philly in the second round.

As such, let’s take a look at the players that the 76ers will be targeting on Thursday in the 2016 NBA Draft, starting with Ben Simmons to get it out of the way and then looking at some targets at Nos. 24 and 26.
