No he didn’t. No he did NOT just shout out J.C. Penney on national television.

Yes, Kris Dunn did – and surprisingly enough, the woefully outdated staple of dying shopping malls around the country actually did a solid job of providing the young guard’s eclectic ensemble for the evening. The jacket and slacks were solid, but the real magic was contained within his sequined Gucci shoes.

Those shoes were so powerful, that all Dunn had to do was click his heels three times and he would’ve automatically been drafted by whatever team he wanted (“There’s no place like Oakland!”). Those shoes probably could’ve brought disco back from the dead, if only for one night.

An interesting thing to keep an eye on would be how Dunn’s Penney’s praise could possibly affect the sales of the company down the road. Probably not by much, but if it were to bring some kind of massive rebirth to their profit, a new 30 for 30 documentary may be in order.
