2. Versatility on offense

Brown was listed as a small forward at Cal but that doesn’t mean he can’t play other positions as well. Brown’s ball handling and ability to create his own shot will be much needed in the fast-paced trigger happy Boston offense. Boston is still lacking that go-to scorer even though Thomas proved he can be “that guy” this past season.

But hey, it’s never a bad thing to have too many scorers right? Brown can play with his back to basket on the block but isn’t afraid to play one-on-one ball with any defender, either. A versatile offensive game still relies heavily on his ability to develop a consistent jump shot.

He will need to bring his turnovers down from his college days (3.1 turnovers per game) but the Celtics are a team willing to let Brown make mistakes in order to get better. Head coach Brad Stevens knows all about the college game and transition to NBA considering he coached Butler from 2001-2013.

Brown has the potential to be the next go-to guy the Celtics need in order to get them over the hump in the Eastern Conference. Big-men need to be aware next season because when Brown gets going north-south, he has been known to posterize unsuspecting victims in college.
