Cleveland Cavaliers – Say hello to the NBA title favorites

Kevin Durant. LeBron James. Kyrie Irving. Kevin Love.

Okay, you can probably remove Kevin Love from the equation. Cleveland is a rare instance of a team that can’t afford to pay Kevin Durant right now, meaning that this scenario would require some weird machinations and a sign-and-trade of some sort. That means that Love probably would not be around to see KD’s arrival…. but I think Cleveland would be okay.

The Cavs are now the defending champions, and the pairing between LeBron and Durant would be the stuff of legend. These are two of the top three players in the NBA today, and they would (obviously) form the best forward combination of all-time. To add to that, Durant is actually a phenomenal complement to LeBron in that he is a high-end shooter and floor-spacer, while LeBron could facilitate in a way that he has not been asked to since his days in Miami.

NBA fans could probably dream about this scenario for days, and it is hard to emphasize just how big of a title favorite the Cavaliers would be if this happened. Alas, it seems wildly unlikely, even if Durant and LeBron wanted to make it happen.
