There will be a lot of missing players from Team USA at the Rio Olympics, but Kyrie Irving will not be one of them

Over the course of the past few weeks, we’ve been learning that there will be a lot of stars from the NBA that will be missing from Team USA this year at the Rio Olympics. However, there are some players that are still choosing to represent the country, and a recent NBA champion is one of them.

On Saturday, we learned that Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving will indeed be representing Team USA in August, according to a report from ESPN.

This is very good news for Team USA, as they are certainly lacking in stars for the team this summer. A lot of notable names have dropped out, including Irving’s Cavaliers teammate LeBron James.

All things considered, this could be another good breakout moment for the young star. Now that he’s an NBA champ and with the players that won’t be on the roster, Irving could be looked at as the star that will take Team USA to the gold medal, which could be another amazing accomplishment in his short career thus far.
