Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Josh Donaldson-Toronto Blue Jays (5,000): Donaldson has multiple hits in four of his last five games and in seven of his last ten.  He has picked up his average to .288 on the season and is hitting over .350 so far this month with four homers and 18 RBI.  At Coors Field, he’s obviously a great play if you can afford him although his 5K salary makes him a must-produce if you spend that much on him tonight in Denver.

High-Salary Option: Jake Lamb-Arizona Diamondbacks (4,200): Lamb is yet another D-Backs option that I like tonight as they on the Phils. He didn’t get the start on Saturday and went 0-4 yesterday in his return.

However, Lamb has hit three homers in his last nine games and has six multi-hit games in his last ten.  He has crushed righties all season to the tune of a .983 OPS and is comfortably over 1.000 in his OPS this month.  He isn’t as well-known as Donaldson, but I think he’s a great play tonight as he games on the Phillies who he went 9-17 (.529) against earlier this season with a pair of homers, a double, and a triple. ∗∗∗

Mid-range Option: Maikel Franco-Philadelphia Phillies (2,900): Franco had a good series in San Francisco getting at least a hit in every game and doing 4-11 with two doubles, a triple ant three runs scored.  Franco hits in the middle of the Phillies un-inspiring lineup, but he does get enough chances to be worth a look tonight against Robbie Ray if you can’t afford one of the higher-priced options and don’t need to go super-cheap.

Mid-Range Option: Juan Uribe-Cleveland Indians (2,800): Uribe returns to Atlanta tonight as the Tribe take on the Braves.  He has been on a hot streak recently with five home runs in his last seven contests.  Throughout his career, he has been a streaky contributor, and he is a nice inexpensive option with revenge as an added motive tonight if the weather holds off in Hotlanta.∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Anthony Rendon-Washington Nationals (2,700): Another mid-range option in a weather-threatened game is Anthony Rendon of the Nationals.  Redon has hit safely in five of his last six games while going 6-21 with a pair of doubles and three walks. He comes into tonight’s game with a 4-10 history against Noah Syndergaard which includes a home run. I think he’s a nice play if it looks like the game will go as scheduled in DC. ∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Conor Gillaspie-San Francisco Giants (2,200): Gillaspie has been a regular in my FanDuel daily picks and should keep getting playing time while Matt Duffy is out. Gillaspie went 2-4 with a double and two RBI in the Giants’ win yesterday. He has double-digit fantasy points in two of his four starts since Duffy went on the DL, so he could be a steal if he gets the start again tonight against the A’s in San Francisco as they start another battle of the Bay.∗∗∗∗
