1. Memphis Grizzlies

If there is a best option for Stephenson in free agency, then it’s returning to the Memphis Grizzlies. Although the team declined their option on Stephenson, that shouldn’t rule out a return to Memphis for Stephenson.

When the Grizzlies acquired Stephenson this past year, he started to look like his old self on the court and put together productive minutes on the floor. Although the Grizzlies suffered a nightmare scenario in regards to injuries, having Stephenson with a healthy roster could carry the team a good way and keep them in the playoff hunt.

If they are also to lose Mike Conley to another team, then they shouldn’t hesitate to bring back another guard on the roster, so as to not have to completely start over with a rookie Wade Baldwin IV.

He just fits in with the tough mentality of the Grizzlies and the culture that they have established in Memphis. His style of crazy fits perfectly there and he is loved for it. If he could come back on a short-term deal and really prove his worth again, he might be able to earn himself an even bigger contract down the road from the Grizzlies or someone else.
