Free agency officially begins on July 1, and teams are going to spend like they have never spent before. Last year, the salary cap for the NBA was around $70 million and this year, it’s going to see a spike of epic proportions.

Thanks in part to a massive postseason haul from the NBA and other revenues, the cap is expected to rise above the projected $89 million that was anticipated a year ago all the way to $94 million.

That’s a $24 million increase and that means many teams are going to have enough to sign a max player or even two max players. That’s going to lead to a rise in just how much players around the league can earn and the top players in the league are going to cash in big with their new contracts.

However, it also means that some teams are going to overpay some players and that will lead to some poisonous contracts for players that won’t be worth as much. Still, this increase is going to create the best free agency ever.
