Seth Rollins opened up WWE RAW on June 27 from Tampa, FL by addressing and burying Roman Reigns and ‘The Guy’s’ suspension
Roman Reigns being suspended for violating the WWE Wellness Policy is a story that still has legs almost a week after it first broke. He had been pushed as the top guy in the company for over a year and to have him get popped for something like this was unthinkable. The big question, though, was whether or not the company would address it on WWE RAW on June 27 from Tampa, FL.
They answered that quite quickly as Seth Rollins came out to open the show.
Rollins came out and said that he wasn’t supposed to talk about Roman Reigns, but he didn’t care. He then lambasted the former champ for what happened and even broke down Reigns’ apology tweet—not hesitating once to bury him, make fun of him, and so on:
".@WWERollins is going there, isn’t he? #RAW https://t.co/JwYv8oWYt1— WWE (@WWE) June 28, 2016"
This was obviously always going to be something that WWE couldn’t just brush under the rug on WWE RAW—but I never expected them to address it in this manner. This was wholly a bad look for Roman Reigns and pretty intentionally so.
Considering this and then talk about changing the match that happened later in the promo and after other people came out, you really do have to wonder what the next chapter is for Roman. If this promo is any indication, it’s probably not going to be a spot at the same place on the card.
